Why are there fewer semi trailers on the road? Will semi-trailers be phased out?

In the freight market, flatbed dump semi-trailers were once extremely popular, but recently there have been fewer and fewer semi-trailers on the road. What's going on? To explain the reason, since the implementation of the new GB1589 policy in 2016, flatbed semi-trailer dump trucks can pull more than 30 tons. This type of vehicle was originally used to pull containers and oil tanks, but after modification, a cargo compartment was added to the flatbed, allowing for the transportation of coal, sand, and ore. In addition, it is lightweight and highly popular in the market. For the modification of semi-trailers, one method is to fix the box fence with rivets and bolts, while the other method involves welding the box fence. If illegal modification is found by relevant departments, fines ranging from 5000 to 20000 yuan will be imposed. On May 31, 2017, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology suspended the evaluation of the certificate of conformity for dump and backflip semi-trailers. This was because these vehicles were registered according to the standard of flatbed trucks, but added cargo boxes for transporting sand, stones, coal, and other goods on the road. The transportation management department inspected the flatbed dump truck according to the flatbed standard, and for safety reasons, determined that the flatbed dump truck with backflip and side flip was an illegally modified vehicle. Starting from May 31, 2018, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology stopped uploading the certificate of conformity for this type of vehicle, which means that this type of vehicle cannot be purchased. Even if a semi-trailer has already been purchased before the discontinuation, it is still affected. At the time of purchase, the license plate was properly registered, but now it has become a non compliant vehicle, and it is highly likely that it will not be allowed on the road in the future. What do cardholders think about this?
